North Street Pop up

09 Jul 2020

Firstly, we hope everyone reading this blog is safe and well and managing in what has been a very challenging few months for all.

This pandemic has affected everyone in some shape or form and few sectors have been left untouched. Retail has been particularly hard hit and so it is great to see businesses starting to reopen. In particular local shops receiving the support they so greatly need.

Whilst we are primarily an online business we have always known that we wanted to offer our products locally in some tangible capacity which leads us to our exciting news......we are launching our next Pop Up shop this month in the old North Street Butchers Building.

We have a fantastic opportunity to collaborate within a development scheme aimed to regenerate the Smithfield Market area of Belfast City centre. Their aim “be bold to save the old” is a large scale development to re-create an eco-system of businesses from small independents, to multinationals, to maker/artist studios and small start-up enterprises. The proposal is to retain the heritage of the area and the character of the buildings. Our new showroom and store is at the heart of this project.

We will use this space first and foremost as our showroom and store but we also plan to collaborate with artist or designers to offer an exhibition space and encourage a sense of community between retail and art. One supporting the other.

We will keep everyone up to date with opening times via social media but, like most shops, we will be limiting our opening hours and offering ‘by appointment’ and, of course, adhering to all social distancing/ sanitising measures.

But....most importantly of all, we want our customers to feel welcome and relaxed to come in for nosey and say hi!! It’s been a strange time not having contact with one another and so it will be refreshing and uplifting just to have a chat.

Stay safe,

Natalie and Tara

xx
