Kizu Table Lamp, Gris du Marais

Designer/Brand

New Works

The bestselling Kizu Table Lamp gains a calm and grounded feel in a new warm grey marble variation. The shimmering surface of Gris du Marais contrasts the clean white upper part of the lamp, while the bright streaks of the stone’s natural pattern harmoniously tie the elements together. In a play with shapes and materials, which culminates in the kissing point between the two forms, Kizu spreads its soft light as an intriguing modern sculpture.

New Works

Profile

New Works presents a collection at the intersection between old and new. Light and dark. Design and art. Their work pays homage to the strong Scandinavian history of craftsmanship and materiality, whilst challenging the contemporary forms of today. They collaborate with an international group of renowned designers and artists, who display a matching fascination with sculptural forms and honest materials. These collaborative pursuits convey our love of the sensual, and of the bold.

New Works was founded by Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik from the desire to establish a design house where design comes to life with care and intent, and where there is room for creative experiments — a place for new works. While Nikolaj juggles numbers and daily operations as CEO, Knut Bendik is responsible for the particular look and feel as Creative Director. Together with a small, dedicated team, they set out to define a curated collection of elevated, yet accessible objects for living. It is through this objective that they shape the continuously evolving story of New Works.
